Evoleno is sure to catch an ear interested in anything with a story, a funky groove and catchy one liners. Made up of a tight group who's roots started together in 2003 with Justin Tucker on the guitar and vocals, Chase Joliet on Drums and Michael Pachuilo on bass guitar. Leighton Sharpley and Poda Guthrie bring an organic feeling to the mix on hand drums and vocals and add depth to this soul filled energetic sound.

I am getting use to painting with my interactive tablet so I finished one of the final projects for my illustration class today. The purpose of this project was to recreate a "Master Painter's" artwork using Corel Painter, which was hard since I have no experience of painting what so ever. I recreated Vincent van Gogh's "Shoes" by doing a portrait of my own Vans with oil on canvas. I call it...van Gogh. HAHA. I know its catchy.

Still in the process of working on an illustration for one of my clients, Lauren Gess, who goes to Temple. She wanted the TU sign somehow incorporated with the sign from Love Park. For a little history,LOVE Park was built in the 1960's at the eastern end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway(across from City Hall). In the late 1980s, by an accident of history, young people discovered that the park's curving stairs and ledges were perfect for skateboarding.
I feel like something is still missing, but I am going to take a break from staring at this picture all day. HUGE HEADACHE

I started to edit some of the photos I shot at the Keep It Movin' fashion show practice, messing around with different techniques I haven't used before. The total concept I wanted to get out of this picture was having the KIM letters(Keep It Movin') interact with the models walking on the runway. So I put the K in perspective to resemble a wall, the model resembles the I, and the M acts as an entrance to the stage. Do you see it? From a personal view, I dislike some of the photographs I had taken because of the lighting situation from the gym and furthermore, I need to by a SLR new camera! But even though I am frustrated with the way this turned out,I still had fun editing these pictures in the studio.

Still in the process of mounting some pieces for the honors show that are due on Friday! I decided to go with "Dig Your Own Grave"(photography), "Shoot for the Stars"(illustration),and 2 versions of "Warp"(printmaking).

With the little time I had to myself during the weekend, I still managed to network with more designers/clients across the state.

One artist is Dionn Reneé from Central Pennsylvania, who is hosting her very own exhibit this Friday (April 3) in Lancaster,PA. Good luck Dionn:)

Another is Brandon Dull from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who is currently studying video production at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Brandon has created various promotional videos: photographer Jordan Beckham ,Club Dreamz, and various artists in the music industry such as Wiz Khalifa, DJ Drama,and Slick Rick. Ultimate Artist of the States

I am entering the Art House Lounge contest held on June 20th - July 18th, 2009 in Harrisburg,Pennsylvania.This national competition is open to all artists 18 years of age and older who are legal residents of the USA. One finalist will be selected from each of the 50 States (if represented) to display the chosen artwork in the exhibition. The best 3 artists of the 50 finalists will receive awards.

I plan on submitting some of my digital photographs such as: "Dig Your Own Grave", and "No Skateboarding"(which received top 100 honorable mention in the Nikon 2008 College Photography Contest).

I finally found out that I've been accepted into the Graphic Arts program at Millersville University! Even though I am still waiting to hear back from the University of Arts in Philadelphia, Millersville was one of my top 3 college choices. The hard work and dedication I put into my work is finally paying off.

I also finished the album cover for Jones (Dangerous Mindz) out of Baltimore,Maryland.I am still finishing up the final touches of the other photographs from last months shoot.

Today I reworked the 80's design and came up with this. I still don't if I am happy with the design but I like it better than the last piece. Also I need to fix some tiny details such as the smoothness of the black frame and the addition of another frame (there is only one side) The overall composition is influenced from the "please stand by" screen on TV (recolored using pop art colors).

Learning about Printmaking

It was a very stressful day at the printmaking studio as I constantly worked with the monotype technique that printmaker, Brian Kreydatus, showed at his in-class studio session last Friday. As he made it look extremely easy, I struggled. I decided to work on one of the many pieces I am submitting into the Students Honor Show.The exhibit will feature various forms of art such as photography, computer art, 3D, 2D, illustration, sculpture, and printmaking. The reception will be held on Wednesday, April 22 at 5:30pm. I still don't know how many pieces I would like to submit/ am allowed to submit?

Happy St. Pattys Day! I spent majority of my day finishing up the flyer for AASA's 80's party. The party will be held on April 3 at 10pm. Tickets are 5 in advance and 7 at the door. Flyers will be posted around the Harrisburg Area Community College campus soon, so check them out!
I went with a yellow background because it tends to pop and catch the eye better than any other color. The rest of the flyer I worked with a very simplistic approach. I love to do flyers because they help promote myself to the public without spending money and getting the same results.

Today I finished the business cards for Graphiq Nachure Clothing which is located and operated in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, but has representatives in most major Northeastern cities.Team Nachure is made up of different and versatile talent, including artists (commercial and free-lance), musicians, music production, video production and advertisers. Previously, I did a shoot for advertisements to kick off the Spring 2009 season. I posted my favorite two.

Very difficult week ahead of me as I picked up a new client for an 80's theme party poster design. What a coincidence! I talked about the trends of the 80's coming back into fashion yesterday and now I am designing a poster for a party that deals with the same subject!

Also, I am keeping my fingers crossed to do a website layout for Hassler Inc, located in Baltimore, Maryland.

I finally started my illustration for class due the week of finals. I still don't know if I am going to keep the composition the way it is, or try to change it up with an edgy background. Maybe even switch up the lenses with various hints of the same color. What made me create this was when I noticed how old school trends are coming back into the world of fashion today (Ray Ban-Wayfarer's). Funny to say, I even have my own pair.

Busy,busy day at the studio today. I finally finished Brian Mccullough's business card and the template turned out pretty slick. Brian, from the Harrisburg area, is a very talented artist that i KNOW will be very successful in the future. The one thing that I love about his work is how he doesn't have a significant style, which a lot of artist's today find impossible! He does everything from designing logos, clothes, and shoes to drawing models, graffitti, and abstract compositions. I would just like to say that this is only the beginning, and Brian and I will be collaborating in the future.
